Designed for High Performance and High School 1 players actively participating in USTA or UTR competitive offerings, Tournament Group is a new summer training option for athletes looking to elevate their game. Led by Coach Clay Sollenberger, Coach Nguyen Vo, and Coach Christian Maki, this program provides structured, athlete-centered training to help players succeed both on and off the tennis court.

Registration opens on March 30 (patrons) and April 6 (non-patrons)

Program Overview

• On-Court Training

  • Practice sessions are designed to reinforce the habits and routines of elite-level players, with a focus on all phases of singles and doubles play.  

  • Each day concludes with competitive singles, doubles, or group-based gameplay.  

• Off-Court Development 

  • Players will participate in video sessions that utilize FWTEC classroom space. 

  • Guest speakers from a variety of sports and disciplines will cover topics related to general wellness, peak athletic performance, and life skills beyond tennis.  

  • Outdoor sessions on adjacent grass fields will focus on athletic development and team building. 

• Competition & Performance Support 

  • Players will prepare for specific tournaments and events throughout the summer. FWTEC coaches will be at competitions this summer, but a coach observing each player in the competition is not guaranteed. 

  • Coaches will integrate SwingVision, an app that captures match play and provides analytics.  

  • Players will also receive video analysis of their strokes and serves, with feedback shared directly from coaches.  

Typical Daily Structure

8:00-9:30 am: On-court training and drills 
9:30-10:15 am: Off-court activities (in classroom or outside) 
10:15-11:00 am: Competitive play 

Additional information:

• Junior Team Tennis (JTT) fee for Tournament Group players is $200/player and is waived for 3-day/week participants

• The deadline for registering for Tournament Group is Friday, May 15
