To Serve As Donation Match Sponsor
of FORTify Our Future Gala!

The Wells Family Fund of the Minneapolis Foundation has signed on as a Donation Match Grand Slam Sponsor supporting the FORTify Our Future Gala October 12 at the Hotel Intercontinental in St. Paul. For each donation made to the Capital Campaign prior to October 10, the Wells Family Fund of the Minneapolis Foundation will match that amount dollar-for-dollar up to $15,000!  

“We are so grateful once again for the continued support of the Wells family to The Fort and our Capital Campaign,” Esther Tsai, Fred Wells Tennis & Education Center Executive Director, said. “This wonderful gift is just another example of their tremendous commitment to what we are doing in keeping Fred’s dream alive.”

The FORTify Our Future Gala will feature delicious food & drink, fun games, auctions & raffles, amazing entertainment from the Brad Bellows Trio and incredible keynote speakers including Dan Faber of the USTA Foundation and Fred Wells junior program alum and recent Stanford graduate Nelson Iginla. All proceeds from the inaugural FORTify Our Future Gala will support the final stage of our $1.7 million Capital Campaign which includes:

  • Mandatory replacement of the air-supported structure over the back courts

  • New LED lighting in the back courts

  • Energy-efficient air conditioning

  • Upgraded parking facilities with new lighting, security cameras and 28 additional parking spaces

  • New sound systems in both domes.

By making these mandatory improvements, the Fred Wells Tennis & Education Center will be able to renew its lease with the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board and continue providing tennis and life skills programming to the community and our TennisWorks after-school participants for years to come.
