Summer 2021 COVID-19
Health and Safety Plan
The Fred Wells Tennis & Education Center (The Fort) is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for staff and players at our facility and at outdoor off-site locations this summer. Our goal is to provide a fun and safe environment for our summer tennis participants. We appreciate your partnership with the following guidelines:
Check-In Procedure/Health Screening
All individuals entering the facility or a program administered by The Fort must review a health questionnaire that can be found by clicking here. By checking in, you certify that you and/or your child meet the criteria in the health questionnaire.
If you are unsure on if your child should be attending the program, please review the MN Dept. of Health COVID-19 Decision Tree. Versions are below in English and Spanish. If you are still unsure, keep your child home.

Safety Measures
Hand sanitizing stations are available for all staff and participants to use when they arrive and throughout the day.
All activities will incorporate social distancing and reduce the possibility for close contact during program.
There will be no physical contact during games – do not shake hands or high five.
In indoor settings as well as in Fort provided transportation, facemasks or like in kind face coverings must be worn at all times, including while playing tennis.
In outdoor settings, facemasks or like in kind face coverings are optional when social distancing can be maintained.
Van capacity will be capped at less than 50% capacity, which equals no more than 7 individuals, including the driver. Windows will be open whenever possible.
Any shared racquets will be sanitized before and after use.
If non-packaged food or water is provided and served, staff will wear gloves and distribute to individual participants. Participants will maintain social distancing while eating.
Communication Protocols
All players who were in the facility prior to receiving positive COVID-19 test are asked to notify us immediately by calling 612-252-8367.
All players who were in the same small group as the person who tested positive will be contacted directly.
Please note that the Preparedness Plan and our procedures may be updated based on guidance from the CDC, MN Department of Health, and State and Municipal Governments. Current participants will be notified of changes and the latest version of our Health and Safety Plan will be available on our web site at www.fwtec.org.
